LEGAL REPORT
THE FACTORIES AND INDUSTRIAL UNDERTAKINGS
(AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE 1980
(No. 11 of 1980)
Enclosure No. 2
This Ordinance is complementary to the Employment (Amendment) Ordinance 1980 which was enacted at the same time. Its purpose is to make changes to the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance consequent upon the transfer to the Employment Ordinance of the provisions that dealt with the conditions of employment of women and young persons in industrial undertakings.
2.
The Ordinance also revokes those provisions of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Regulations dealing with such employment, the intention being that fresh regulations dealing with employment of women and young persons in industry will be made under the Employment Ordinance as amended by the Employment (Amendment) Ordinance 1980.
Before the Governor assented to the Bill in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty, the Attorney General advised that he could properly do so.
