3. Section 17 of the principal Ordinance is
amended by deleting subsection (1) and substituting
the following
CA
(1) An employer who enters into a contract
of apprenticeship that is not required to be
registered under section 15(1) or 16(1) may,
if the contract is in a form similar to that
provided for in section 8, send the contract
at any time to the Commissioner for registration
under this Ordinance, and the Commissioner may,
subject to subsections (2) and (3), register
that contract."

Amendment of section 30.

Section 30(2)(a) of the principal Ordinance is
amended by inserting after "parties" the following

"unless the Commissioner is satisfied that a
shorter period of notice would be beneficial
to the apprentice"

(a) by being renumbered as subsection (1);
(b)
in subsection (1)(i) by inserting after
