a network of intermediate points and points

beyond;

it is inconsistent with the basis on which

the London/Hong Kong applications were made

and inimical to the purpose of serving London/

Hong Kong as an end-to-end route;

if granted, the needs and interests of passeng

flying London/llong Kong and vice versa (and in

particular the seating capacity available) are

bound to be subordinated to and/or adversely

affected by the needs and interests of passeng

between other destinations;

the more destinations intermediate to or beyon

Hong Kong which are served on the route(s)

proposed to be flown under the licence as

varied, the greater are the potential delays

and inconvenience to passengers flying the

London/Hong Kong route.

IF BCAL IS UNSUCCESSFUL IN THE LONDON/HONG KONG

APPLICATIONS.

If BCAL is unsuccessful in the London/Hong Kong

applications then this application, although presented as a variation of an existing licence, must in effect be an attempt to achieve by the back door what BCAL have failed to achieve by the front door in the London/Hong Kong applications.

3.2.

Since BCAL has never hitherto flown the London/ Singapore route, and since that route is already too well served to be attractive to BCAL, the real purpose of this
