SECOND HONG KONG AIRPORT:
MR HAL MILLER MP
Mr Hal Miller MP (Conservative - Bromsgrove and Redditch) has written to Mr Blaker about the location of a second airport for Hong Kong.
2.
At the beginning of January there was press speculation both in Hong Kong and here that the Hong Kong Government might be cooperating with the Chinese authorities over a joint venture to construct a new airport for Hong Kong on the Chinese side of the border. The Hong Kong Government have confirmed that there is no truth in this speculation.
3.
I recommend that Mr Blaker writes to Mr Miller on the lines of the attached draft.
