at least as high as the 35% of the Metropolitan UK fleet owned by UK
companies at 30 September 1979. And the tonnage registered in Hong Kong
has greatly increased in recent years, partly as a result of the increased
importance of trades in the region around Hong Kong and partly as a
result of conscious decisions by some Hong Kong owners to register more
vessels there (in 1979 for example the C Y Tung Group registered six
container vessels there).
