As the residents, totalling over 3,000 in number, of Sections 4, 7, 9 and 10 of Fuk. Wah Tsuen Cottage Area, we were immensely perturbed on 12.10.79 by your announcement under G.N. 2607 regarding the proposed closure of a portion of Chun Wah Road.
2.
Your department may be well aware that Chun Wah Road is our crucial traffic route. Its closure will severely affect our livelihood. At present, the Housing Department is working on rehousing us elsewhere. We therefore submit this joint petition requesting -
(a) that the said proposed closure of Chun Wah Road be
postponed till after all of our residents have been rehoused elsewhere by Government;
(b) that you kindly confirm (a) above in an official letter to be sent to us as soon as possible.
