The servicing
a "her vicing" at least once every month, will comprise an examination of the ruling and operating equipment (e.g. brakes, sicering, door mechanian, etc.) and the appointments (eig, seate, handrails, etc.) and the rectification of any faults found;
a "minor dock" at least once every year. A "minor dock"
will comprise the examination of vital components, to
ensure that the bus is structurally sound and roadworthy;
an overhaul prior to examination by the Commissioner for a Certificate of Fitness. (The Commissioner and KB will
prepare a schedule of the dates when Certificates of Fitness. will be required for each vehicle.) An overhaul will
comprise the dismantling, examination, repair, or replacement of moving and structural parts of a bus.
KMB will so regulate the maintenance and servicing of buses as to ensure that, by mid 1981, at least 75% of the licensed fleet is
available at all times to operate the public omnibus service
required by the Ordinance and the franchise.
KMB will continue to keep up to date records of repairs,
maintenance and overhaul of each bus;
(a) KMB will continue to adhere to their formal system for drivers to
report defects with clear lines of communications with the repair
teams. Written records of the defect report and the action taken
to rectify the defect will be kept. (This will apply to all vehicles including buses parked overnight at termini and on streets);

HB will continue their system of removal from the depots all
scrapped engines, transmissions, and other components and waste
materials. Buses that have been scrapped will be removed to
naximige the space within the depots for the maintenance and
parking of serviceable vehicles;
