No publicity is considered necessary, but operators of container terminals, the shipping companies and agents engaged in the transportation of dangerous dgoods will be advised of the new measures.

There are no financial or staffing implications arising from

the proposed legislative amendments.

Advice Sought

Members will be asked to advise under section 5 of the Dangerous Goods Ordinance whether the Dangerous Goods (General) (Amendment) (No 3) Regulations 1980 annexed should be made.

(The Chief Fire Officer (Fire Protection Bureau) (Mr B. G. FENDER) and Crown Counsel (Mr A. WATSON-BROWN) will attend before the Council for the discussion of this item).
