The way we suggested would avoid all these complications and unnecessary delays.

KEC would obtain the full services it required from the Project Management Comany, on the Board of which they would be represented.

The cost of running the Project Management Company would be kept to a minimum and would be shared by all parties making use of their services.

Though CLP would not be involved in any way in the responsibility of servicing outstanding international loans, they would offer their full cooperation and would provide the basic cover for these loans by undertaking to purchase electricity from KEC on a long-term contract.

The benefit to CLP would be the additional security

by interconnection with the provided

KEC's grid distribution system, and the possibility of being able to purchase a part of the electricity they required at a cheaper rate than CLP would produce it themselves.

Mr. Stones suggested that CLP could participate in the project in the following manner :
