On the fourth Question, the political future of Hong Kong
was not discussed when Huang Hua was here earlier this month.

Mr Hooley has also tabled two other Questions related to
Hong Kong. The first deals with representations from Hong Kong
and the Chinese community in Great Britain concerning proposed
changes in British Nationality Law. The second concerns the
possibility of citizens of Hong Kong becoming stateless as a
result of any change in nationality law or in the status of
Hong Kong. Both have been transferred to the Home Office, but
we are being consulted on the replies.
