HONG KONG: CROWN LEASES IN THE LEASED TERRITORIES
With your letter of 22 August 1978 you were good enough to send some helpful comments.
The topic of the leases has again been raised and I am to discuss it with the local Attorney-General (John Griffiths) on 1 August.
I enclose three pages from an opinion of his about Periodic Tenancies and three pages of a minute he wrote. (I hesitate to trouble you with the entirety of the documents.)
Any comment you feel able to make on the enclosures would be much valued.
As my meeting may include someone from the Law Officers' Department, a copy of this letter goes to Henry Steel, to whom I have already written.
