Secretary of State's Engagements
I shall henceforth be issuing on a monthly basis an abbreviated forecast of the major inward visits involving the Secretary of State, and of Lord Carrington's overseas engagements. I attach the first such forecast. It is classified confidential, as it refers to a number of possible commitments for which planning is still at a very tentative stage, and which will not be in the public domain for a long time to come.
I should be grateful to be informed immediately by telephone of any significant omissions from this list, or amendments to it. The list reflects the information at present registered in the Secretary of State's diary. It is clearly essential that the diary should be kept as up to date as possible.
