Miss Metcalfe will then travel on to Peking on 27/28 September and will then return to the United Kingdom on the RAF VC10.

RAF VC10 will depart from RAF Brize Norton for New York
ETD 1500 John F Kennedy Airport, ETA 1800
The members of the party who are not already in New York or travelling as shown above will fly in the RAF VC10. The final passenger list which will include people on duty journeys and Postings will be issued later. The members of the party travelling out on the VC10 to New York will stay at the Holiday Inn Hotel at the airport. Lady Carrington will join Lord Carrington at the UN Plaza Hotel.

THURSDAY 25 SEPTEMBER
The RAF VC10 picks up the Secretary of State and the party and leaves New York, John F Kennedy airport, at 12 noon, and will arrive Hong Kong at 2255 hours on 26 September. The itinerary is then as follows:
Thursday 26 September to Monday 29 September in Hong Kong
Monday 29 September
Thursday 2 October
to Thursday 2 October in Japan
to Monday 6 October
in China
Tuesday 7 October the RAF VC10 arrives at London Heathrow, Southside at 0800 hours.
