Glad to discuss proposed joint project for nuclear power
plant in Guangdong. Echo Prime Minister's support.

Will discuss in Peking, making clear we appreciate economic
and political significance (See Brief No 8(d) attached - Secretary
of State's visit to China).

[If pressed on equity participation by HMG] Obviously
something we will consider carefully. No decision taken yet.
Need first to get a view from Peking.
