Your minute of 24 June to Mr Archer. conscious that Mr Blaker has not yet had an opportunity to visit China, Japan or Korea. Unfortunately it would be difficult to combine visits to any of those countries with a visit to Bangladesh in late October or early November. It would probably be too soon after the Lord Privy Seal's visit early next month to contemplate another visit to Korea; and a visit at that time would certainly be too close to Lord Carrington's visits to Japan and China in late September/early October.

If the Minister's diary allows, it will be better to aim for a visit to China, Japan and (subject to Mr Clift's views) Hong Kong early next year, as the department have already suggested.
