1. I has been agreed that Paula and I should have about four weeks' home leave during March next year at the Hong Kong Government's expense. There is one point on which I should be grateful for your clarification, and that is whether the Hong Kong Government will also be prepared to pay for Mark and Samantha to come to Hong Kong. If this were agreed, they would only come for a week at the end of our leave so their hotel expenses would not be great.

I know you must be very busy at the moment, but I would appreciate an early reply because the dates of our leave depend upon the decision on this.
