The ceiling estimate for building the Modified Initial System is JK 5,800m including celation up to 1900.
This estimate was given to the Hong Kong Covernment in January 1975, several months before tenders were received. It allowed for 7% per annum escalation to 1980, the year of completion, but did not include financing charges and interest.
The estimate comprised approximately HK$5,000m for contract costs and HK$800m for Corporation costs including consultants' fees, land acquistion, compensation etc.
The ceiling estimate for building the Tsuen an Extension is HK. 4,100m including usc.lation up to 1982 but excluding fincing chrys and interest during instruction.
