1. Reference Mr Bridgewood's minute of 11 June attached. original draft policy statement is at P 4 in the file; and I have underlined in pencil on the attached revised draft the few minor changes. They have no special significance for WIAD
territories.
2, As regards comments by WIAD Governors:

a) Cayman's comments are at P 5 (no amendment
suggested).
b) Montserrat did not comment.
c) Anguilla did not comment.
d) BVI comments (on HK&GD file) made no sense and were
rejected.
e) TCI comments (also on HK&GD file) included quite a
good point about the fact that para 4 did not say that the timetable for the run-up to independence would not exceed 18 months. However, the para as it stands is, I suggest acceptable; and it would be tactically unwise I suggest to refer to a specific period at the present time since we expect the UN Mission to TCI to recommend a longer period of ISG.
Apart from correcting a minor typing error in para 5 suggest we agree the revised statement.
