I received a visit from my constituent, Mrs Penhearow, of Woodstock, Ballard's Close, Lytchett Matravers, Dorset, last Friday.

Mrs Penhearow gave me a memorandum, a copy of which I enclose, which I think is self-explanatory.

Because of the rapid rise of the pound in recent months, you will42 appreciate that Mrs Penhearow, who appears to be of modest means, lost considerable sums of money because of the delay, firstly in repayment of tax which she paid but had no obligation to pay, and secondly as a result of the delay in the processing of her husband's will in Hong Kong. I wonder whether you would examine Mrs Penhearow's case, and whether the Hong Kong Government would not agree with me that they are under some obligation to alleviate Mrs Penhearow's resultant financial distress.
