us work very hard to save up sweat-and-blood money to have their shelters. What we need is only reasonable compensation so as to lead us a happy life again. At last, let us reiterate our common voice that the owners of the seven buildings at Sai Lau Kok swear to death not to evacuate until the government has given us reasonable compensation!

To Mr. Wilkins, Director of Mass Transit Railway
We had a special meeting today (March 29, 1979) with your staff, Michael Philips and Mr. Sung Chi-Wah at the Tsuen Wan M T R office to discuss the following points:
I) To return all the documents and forms which sent to us in March from your department - This is to show that we would never accept any tricks of your department until the reasonable compensation is obtained.
II) We hope that the housing department and your department can have a negotiation with us together, and not to have it separatly as before to give us such psychological strain. We also hope that the Housing Department and your department can co-operate to reserve the units in Cheung Shan Estate for us. We do not want to see to exert any conflict and threats and presure on us to sign any docu- ments, e.g. the notice of demolition by the Housing Department which damagingly effect our rights, before reasonable housing alloca- tion and compensation are given which your staffs have already promised to negotiate with the Housing Department.
III) The evaluation of premises -
Your staff in Principle agreed that the previous basic conditions of assessing the market prices of our buildings are very different from the current and real market situation. If your department really had the sincerity to talk to us about any decisions on the compensation, please write to us to arrange for negotiation.
IV) Other Compensations - Other compensations such as interior furnish- ing, removal subsidy, subsidy for disruption, solicitors' fees, stamp duties etc., can be further discussed after the compensation of the
