LETTER FROM LORD BROCKWAY
1. Lord Brockway wrote to Lord Goronwy-Roberts on 29 March
about a report he has received that another child has been
drowned in a Hong Kong typhoon shelter and that the police
threatened arrests at the funeral.
2.
Lord Brockway tabled a starred question on the problems of the boat people on 12 February and subsequently put down an unstarred question that was debated in the House on 7 March.
3. We have asked the Hong Kong Government for a full report
on these latest incidents. In the meantime, I submit an interim reply to Lord Brockway.
