VISA REGULATIONS CONCERNING HOLDERS OF BRITISH PASSPORTS

I. British Passports

1. Holders of British passports which have been issued by a Passport Office in the United Kingdom (including the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands) do not need a visa for visiting Germany, provided that their stay does not exceed three months and does not involve employment. 2. Holders of British passports which have been issued

outside the United Kingdom need a visa to enter Germany, unless

a) it appears from the passport that the holder was

born in the United Kingdom (including Iøle of Man and Channel Islands) or

b) the Passport contains an unconditional re-entry

permit in the form of an Exempt Entry Certificate,

always provided that the stay does not exceed three months and does not involve employment.

Application for an Exempt Entry Certificate has to be made to the Foreign Nationals Department, Passport Office, Clive House, Potty France, London, S.W. 1. We are being informed, that the following persons will normally qualify for such an Exempt Entry Certificate:'

aa) Persons who were.

born, adoptod,

naturalized in the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands, or

registered as United Kingdom citizens in the United Kingdom or a British High Commission in an independent Commonwealth country, or

bb) Persons whose parent or grandparent (paternal or

maternal) has or had one of these qualifications.
