Explanatory Note

These regulations amend the Schedule of

fees prescribed by the Immigration Regulations. They

make it clear that the existing fees for Certificates

of Identity will continue to be payable in respect of

all such certificates, whether issued for their full,

or for a restricted, duration. A fee is also prescribed

for the first extension of a certificate of restricted

validity which has been issued at less than the full

fee; this will be appropriate in the case of certain

certificates issued under a previous scale of fees.

A single increased fee is prescribed for

multiple re-entry permits, whether issued for their

full duration or less; a fee for an extension of

certain existing permits of restricted validity is

also prescribed.

The fee for a re-entry permit valid for

1 visit is increased.

A service charge of $25 is made to apply to

the handling of matters involving consular registration

and registration of nationality.
