13% of all refugees from Indo-China who arrived

in Hong Kong from 1 January to 14 September 1979 were

classified as Vietnamese from South Vietnam. Precise

statistics for the present camp population are not

available.

4. On 18 September 1979 there was a total of 68,385

refugees in Hong Kong.

5. In 1978, 67,495 legal immigrants entered Hong Kong

from the People's Republic of China.

From 1 January to 18 September 1979, 54, 056 legal

immigrants entered Hong Kong from the People's

Republic of China.

7. An analysis of the figures for this year's

arrivals up to 14 September shows that the percentage

of refugees who began their journeys from North

Vietnam was 62.5%.
