you wod like us to put to the Home Office at this
late stage.
3. You will be aware that we have already argued at
length the case you made on nomenclature, and that
this has persuaded the Home Office to include the
proposal for a three tier system. We have also
argued the case that you (in common with many other
people and organisations) made for a more liberal
policy on the transmission of citizenship by people
born overseas, and this too led the Home Office to
modify their original proposals in certain respects.
Unless there are compelling new arguments to be made
on either subject, we do not think that there is now
any possibility of introducing further modifications
to the Home Office proposals.

There may be other points of detail that you
will wish to question once the draft Bill is
published:
there will of course be ample opportunity
for you to do this during the Parliamentary process.
