Residents To Migrate to Britain Upon The Expiry Of The New Territories lease.

A Chinese resident in Britain has lamented that the old British Empire is now sericusly hit by continuous labour disputes and inflation, which have caused its people to lose their sensus. While making a lot of complaints, many British people have even started a racial discrimination drive and are shouting "We want a lily white British Empire. Chinese people please go home!"

The Chinese resident, in a letter to the Express, points out that this trend has been adopted by the Conservative Party as one of its political stands. The party has carlier declared openly that when Hong Kong is about to be handed back to China, Britain, unless it is not ruled by the party, will absolutely not allow the entry of Hong Kong residents as refugees.

According to a recent opinion poll in Britain, the Conservative Party holding such a stand has 20 per cent more public support than the Labour Party. The (Conservative) Party is also using the Labour Government's devolution plan for Scotland as a political weapon to ensure the Labour Party in Parliament for making an illegal move. If the censure motion gets through, the Labour Government, led by Mr. James Callathan, will be left with only two alternatives to resign or to call an early general election.

In other words, if the Conservative Party can make use of this opportunity to take over the reins of government, the interests of Hong Kong residents will face a great challenge.

In his letter, the overseas Chinese describes in detail the recent situation in Britain, saying that the old British Empire is now hard hit by labour strife and inflation. The life for Britans is not good at all, but Chinese residents there are in even worse plight.

Racial feelings are running high. Demonstrations in the streets of Britain and in television dramas frequently adopt the theme of "Keeping Britain white." Last June, members of the National Front organised demonstrations in various districts, demanding that all coloured peoples go home so that the British Empire will remain lily white.
