6. When occasions arise, we will of course bring the notice of the Finns the large number of refugees now in Hong Kong awaiting resettlement, but Finland's symbolic gesture has been made and one cannot be hopeful of a further intake of refugees here.
7. Since drafting the above, I have learnt of the proposed visit to Hong Kong of a group representing the Finnish Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee (FAC). The group is a prestigious one; the visit would afford a unique opportunity to draw Finland's attention to the Hong Kong refugee problem.
