Year Farvel,
VIETNAMESE REFUGEES: ENTALINA
1. I am putting straight into the bag with this letter two notes received today from the UNHCR office in Sydney, covering resettlement registration forms in respect of 42 of the refugees rescued by Entalina and landed temporarily at Darwin.
2.
These fall into two batches: 15 people who have positively requested resettlement in the UK, and one in Hong Kong; and the "residue" of those with no positive connection in any country, who amount to 26.
3.
By the time you receive these, I hope you will have had a telegram assessing our chances of getting the Australians to take some of the latter. However, with a change of Minister (Mr MacKellar now having been succeeded by Mr Macphee) this may be a little less easy than we had earlier thought.
4.
I should be grateful if you could give these forms a rapid fair wind in the direction of whoever needs to process them? Home Office.
Yours ever,
Loved.
LW BOYES
