Further to my letter of 15 October I official report on the meeting. As is their custom, UNHCR have
now enclose UNHCR's drafted it to reflect their viewpoint and perhaps for this reason it is worth reading in full. My own point (para 11.ix) has been suitably doctored. De Haan's reply at para 22, however, is a useful statement of UNHCR policy on resettlement outside quotas. As a follow-up to this meeting UNHCR are planning a 2/3 day seminar for resettlement officials early next year.
