Please see the attached copy of a letter to Mr James in Paris. I do not want massive briefs for either of these talks, but I should be grateful for notes on particular points which it would be useful for me to raise or warnings on points to avoid. As M. Noiville is a clear and penetrating analyst it would also be helpful if I could have copies of any recent assessments, eg of internal developments in China, Afghanistan,
etc.
