As for other refugee figures, I am afraid that until recently these have not been maintained in a way which would enable us readily to give figures for the period requested. However, the following might be useful. The other 'overseas' programme comparable to the Indo China refugee situation (ie those admitted on the basis of Ministerial discretion rather than accepted as a result of our obligations under the 1951 Convention) is that for refugees from Latin America. Since the overthrow of the Allende regime in Chile in September 1973 we have admitted about 3000 refugees from Latin America. For the remainder (ie the 'in country' cases) we have a regular trickle of refugees from various parts of the world usually of the order of 300 or so a year.
