To the Editor of the Adelaide "Advertiser" Adelaide S.A.

Sir,

Congratulations to Paul Barnett and the others whose letters about the 'boat people' appeared in the "Advertiser" of June 21 and those whose letters did not appear. Vie, too, are concerned about the 'boat people'

But where are the demonstrators - not only those referred to but others?

What about those who were protesting about Project Jonah (which is very concerned with whales)? What about those involved in the Right to Life Movement? Don't the 'boat people' have a right to life too?

Where are the anti-war protestors who were so concerned with the Vietnamese people Bome years ago? Why not now?

Where are all our strikers, who seem very concerned about their own ease and comfort? Where are they?

riost of all where are the Christians? Two thousand years ago Jesus Christ was crucified outside the city of Jerusalem.Of that event the words of Jeremiah were used "Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by?"

To our north thousands of men, women and children are face to face with death, as innocently as was our Lord Jesus Christ. We might even say that in them Jesus Christ is being crucified again. And Jeremiah the prophet asks once more "Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by?"

G

It isn't enough for Christians to shut their eyes and sing Alleluia! There must be a unity of prayer and protest which will echo around the world. Write to the Foreign Minister and the Minister for Immigration in Canberra letters from irate people in any number scare the living daylights out of politicians. Write to the Ambassador for Thailand, 11 Empire Court, Yarralumla 2600; or to the High Commissioner for Malaysia, 71 State Circle, Yarralumla 2600 or (for the authorities in Hong Kong) the British High Commissioner, Commonwealth Avenue, Yarralumla 2600.

Only when this protest has been made will Christians be able to offer any acceptable praise to God. Until then, may He have mercy on us, the unmerciful!

Yours, etc.
