The UNHCR figures quoted were supplied to Mr Murray on 6 June.
As they are over a month old they in some cases seriously understate the magnitude of the problem (there are, for example, over 70,000 refugees in Malaysia now, compared with the UNHCR figure
of 54,000) but no more recent comprehensive figures are available.

Hong Kong has been treated separately, both to draw attention
to the size of the problem there and to avoid any implication (at
which the Chinese would be bound to protest) that Hong Kong was
regarded as a "country". The figures quoted were supplied by
the Hong Kong authorities on 7 June.
