I am unashamedly in favour of building a much larger
population in a sensible way for economic growth, for security,
to help to develop stability in the region. Until we do have a
much larger population, but one that does not jeopardise social
we shall be vulnerable to charges that we are dogs
cohesion,
in the manger, holding onto a large slice of territory and great
resources for a very few people.
We owe it to past and future generations of Australians
and to our destiny as the only nation-continent to realise the
potential of our land and people and to play a constructive role
in seeking answers to questions such as the ones I have raised in
this address.
