at the current level of operations an increasing number and percentage
of those who attempt to enter Hong Kong are being apprehended and it is

which are now being made by the armed forces and by the security forces in
general.

Sir, what is the latest information as to the steps which the Chinese
authorities have taken to significantly reduce the heavy flow of legal and
illegal immigrants entering Hong Kong and is there any sign that such heavy flow will soon abate?
