The master was called on board HMS Wasperton together with one refugee, for a meeting with the Deputy Secretary for Security. The Master was told that he had been reprovisioned with sufficient supplies of food and water to enable him to sail to Taivan. He was told that the Hong Kong Government was not prepared to let the situation remain unresolved and that they would not continue to reprovision the ship indefinitely. He was told, therefore, to continue his voyage but if he decided instead to enter Hong Kong waters he would not be prevented from dcing so but would be subject to Hong Kong law. This meeting, and the events leading up to the "Huey Fong" entering Hong Kong on 19th January are covered fully in paragraphs 18 26 of the Report and in Annex D.
