GOVERNMENT'S ATTITUDE TO VIETNAM/CAMBODIA HOSTILITIES
1. Our representative at the United Nations has made clear that while we ha repeatedly voiced our grave concern at the inhumanities taking place in Cambodia, the Cambodian Govern- ment's behaviour could not excuse Vietnam (whose own human rights record is deplorable) for violating Cambodia's territorial integrity.
WHAT ACTION IS THE GOVERNMENT TAKING?
2. The matter has been brought before the Security Council where we supported calls for the immediate withdrawal of foreign forces. We are ready to support whatever appropriate moves the Council may decide to take, to uphold the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter.
RECOGNITION OF NEW REGIME IN CAMBODIA
3. We recognised the Government of Democratic Kampuchea on 2 May 1975. There is no change in our position.
