HOUSING
1.
W
The llong Kong Government aim to provide subsidised housing
for all who need it. Over 2 million people 46% of the
population
have already been provided with public housing.
This will be increased to 65% by 1985. New homes are being
provided at a rate that will reach 35,000 units this year.
BOAT DWELLERS
2. The Hong Kong Government do not dispute the right of the
boat dwellers to apply for public housing. But except for
those whose boats are in a dangerous condition, they have no
claim to be given priority over the many other equally deserving
applicants for public housing.
