1. I am sorry not to have written earlier to thank you for your letter of 12 June. As you may have seen, we have had the Governor here for consultations about Vietnamese refugees and immigration from China, and there has not been much time for anything else.
2. It was good of you to take the trouble to look into the point which I raised. I have sent a copy of your letter and its enclosures to Eric Ho and have asked for his comments on your third paragraph. I will let you know how he replies.
3. Eric Ho will, incidentally, be on leave in this country during July and August and has suggested coming into the Office on 13 or 16 July. It might be useful if we could all get together. Would you be free for lunch on either of those days?
