As a second step, CPA could switch to B747 services on 1st November 1980 or 1st April 1981. These services would also operate via Bahrain and would expect to carry traffic between Hong Kong and Bahrain as well as Hong Kong and London. The service would be principally for the cabotage traffic, although CPA might have to seek rights Bahrain-London in order to make the service by wide-bodied aircraft viable.
