CONFIDENTIAL
We have taken note of Song's point about aircraft belonging to CAAC and China Airlines not "coinciding"
at Kaitak.
We and the DOT were also unaware of the
proposed British Airways visit in April, but we have since learned that British Airways have set arrangements in hand for a courtesy visit to CAAC by Draper, BA Commercial Director.
He has a speaking engagement
in Seoul on 16/17 April and hopes to visit China after
that. The timing of his visit may not be ideal from our point of view but we can hardly put obstacles in his
way at a time when we seem to be making progress towards
the conclusion of an Agreement.
