CHAIRMAN'S COMMENTS
4. The Chairman said that the applications and objections would be considered
under the existing law which was the Civil Aviation Act 1971, as amended, and the 1976 policy guidance. No account would be taken of the Bill at present before Parliament which was proposing certain amendments to the 1971 Act. The Authority was satisfied that Cathay Pacific was a British airline for the purposes at Section 22(3) of the Act and that all three applicants had adequate financial resources to operate the services applied for and were competent to operate their aircraft safely.
