1. We would be grateful for your comments on
relativity of proposed Australia Hong Kong fares agreed in January and the ASEAN proposals for sector fares as set out in third TUR. Since the fares agreed in January
were fairly low in relation to Australian proposals for sector fares to ASEAN, possibly any adjustment to the
former need not be large.
2. Since there is a possibility.of change in the Australia - Hong Kong fares, we think it would be unwise to make the January proposals public (paragraph 3 of your second TUR refers).
3. For Canberra. Please tell Rowland that we are
consulting Hong Kong about sector fares and will contact him again when advice received, with a view to quick settlement and implementation of new Hong Kong to
Australia fares.
4. We shall send further comments on the trunk-route. and capacity when we have consulted BA.
