As these proposed changes have received publicity at the time of the budget speech, it is unlikely that their enactment will attract further significant comment.

Honourable Members will be asked to advise:
whether the Inland Revenue (Amendment) (No 4) Bill 1979, the Estate Duty (Amendment) Bill 1979, the Motor Vehicles (First Registration Tax) (Amendment) Bill 1979 and the Road Traffic (Registration and Licensing of Vehicles) Regulations (Amendment) Bill 1979 should be introduced into the Legislative Council; and
(b) whether the Shipping and Port Control (Amendment)
Regulations 1979 should be made.
