An Ordinance to amend the Widows' and Children's Pensions Ordinance.

[20th July, 1979]

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and con-

sent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Widows' and Children's Short title. Pensions (Amendment) Ordinance 1979.

2. Section 2(5) of the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting Amendment of paragraph (b) and substituting the following-

section 2.

(Cap. 79.)

"(b) As respects any circumstances in which the conditions specified in paragraph (a)(i)(B) or (a)(ii)(B) are not satisfied, the Directors may, if they think fit and are satisfied that full-time education ought not to be regarded as completed, direct either—

3.

(i) that any period or periods shall be ignored for the pur- poses of that paragraph; or

(ii) that any period or periods shall be treated as full-time education for all or any of the purposes of this Ordinance.".

Section 14(6)(b) of the principal Ordinance is amended by de- Amendment of leting "total period in respect of which those contributions were made:" section 14. and substituting the following-

"period commencing on the date of payment of the first of such contributions and ending on the date on which the contributions are returned: ".
