This amendment provides for the reporting of defective tyres during the inspection of a train prior to its running.
Part II. Items 2, 7, 8, 10 and 12
It is proposed to insert 'endangers or' after 'which' in these items.
This amendment provides for the reporting of occurrences which either actually or potentially affect the safe operation of the railway.
Part II. Item 3
It is proposed to add 'or on any part of the railway premises or on premises occupied or used by the Corporation in the running of the railway'.
This amendment provides for the reporting of fines and certain occurrences on 'railway premises', namely those parts of the MTR to which the public have access, and those
facilities such as train control centres to which public do not have access.
Advice sought

Members will be asked to advise, under section 24 of the Mass Transit Railway Corporation Ordinance (Chapter 270), whether the Mass Transit Railway Regulations 1979, at Annex, should be made, subject to the amendments outlined in paragraph 3.
