Rail Projects in Hong Kong 2 pia
The Prime Minister has seen your Secretary of State's minute of 13 February about Metro-Cammell's prospects for securing substantial contracts for the supply of rolling stock to Hong Kong, and the possible implications of this for future trade in this field with China.
The Prime Minister has read Mr. Smith's minute with interest, and is very pleased with this British success.
I am sending copies of this letter to Martin Hall. (HM Treasury), Stephen Wall (Foreign and Commonwealth Office), Andrew Duguid (Department of Industry), Genie Flanagan (Department of Transport), and Ken Cotterill (Export Credits Guarantee Department).
T.G. Harris, Esq., Department of Trade.
