Protection
against
flooding
(bi)
The Corporation shall ensure that such
control centres are manned at all times when trains
are in operation for the public conveyance of
passengers by persons trained in the use of the
equipment installed therein and in such duties
assigned to them and shall take such steps as may
be reasonably necessary to ensure that such persons
remain at all times competent to carry out such
duties..
1.6.;
The Corporation shall provide and maintain
adequate means to prevent flooding of the underground
parts of the railway.
Provision of
indicators
and EXIT
signs
1.7. (a) The Corporation shall provide and maintain
adequate illuminated train and direction indicators,
in the English and. Chinese languages, in every
station for the information and direction of the
public and to enable passengers to proceed safely and
correctly with the minimum delay.
(b) The Corporation shall provide, to the
satisfaction of the Chief Secretary, and maintain
illuminated signs indicating the word EXIT in the
English and Chinese languages. Such signs shall be
at a height of at least two metres above floor
level and shall be placed over all doors or openings
for the purpose of egress from the stations,
