Public Transport Fares Concessions for Children & Students

1.

China Motor Bus Co. & Kowloon Motor Bus Co.

Concession fares

(a) Children below the age of twelve years shall be charged on

every service except express, recreation and cross harbour,

one half of the adult single fare for any journey calculated

to the nearest ten cents above.

(b) Children below the age of four years, if accompanied by an

adult and not occupying a seat, shall be carried free of

charge. Not more than two children shall be carried free of

charge by any one adult.

(c)

Students holding a valid school children's pass and who attend

Government approved schools shall be entitled to subsidized

travel to and from school only except on those routes specified

in the Schedule of Services and specified express routes.

Subsidized travel is basically a half fare with a subsidy from

Government to make up the difference with a full fare.

Concessionary fares do not apply on-

Cross-harbour services

Coach services

Specified recreational services.

Hong Kong Tramways Ltd.

Faretable

30 cents per Single Adult Journey

(10 cents for children under 12 years)

Monthly tickets - $27.

Students with valid student passes pay 10 cents per journey.

Government grants a subsidy to the company at the rate of $3.30

per pass per month.
