If finally 36(a) and (b) were both accepted and (c) were not, it would be necessary to seek the commitment of the Legislature to an annual financial commitment of around $45 million per annum.

Members are asked to advise whether :
the current Government student travel subsidy should be discontinued from the end of the current academic year;
the proposal to require public transport operators to grant concessionary fares for students from the age of 12 to the academic year of their 15th birthday, with effect from the start of the next academic year, should be approved in principle, and
if so, detailed arrangements for implementation should proceed.
